Skateboarding Santa

Santa poses for the Kimberley Echo each year in a distinct East Kimberley setting.

Last year the old fellow posed on a dead tree in Lily Creek Lagoon and on previous occasions in all manner of places.

This year he gave up the reindeer and sleigh in favour of a skateboard at the new skate park in White Gum Park.

Our camera wasn't quick enough to catch some of the tricky manoeuvres he pulled off, so we settled for this image.

The skate park has proved to be a major Christmas present for many of Kununurra's youngsters.

Rumours that numerous children have suffered broken limbs and skull fractures are unfounded.

However, parents are being encouraged to make sure their children are wearing the right protective equipment.
