Wyndham Pool delays

The Wyndham Swimming Pool upgrade is facing yet another delay.

However chief executive officer Chris Adams is confident that the new rendering that needs to be applied will see the pool through for the foreseeable future.

Because of extreme heat conditions the original rendering was not satisfactory and had to be re-rendered.

On inspection of the second rendering, Shire staff identified several areas of new render that were not satisfactory.

The contractor from Broome Blast was notified immediately and his inspection on December 3 confirmed that the surface was not suitable for painting..

"The delays are very inconvenient to say the least, however, it is better that we get it right at this stage to avoid more delays and costs later down the track," Mr Adams advised.

The Shire is confident that the new render will be suitable Wyndham residents should be back in the water by mid January.
