The Kununurra Chamber of Commerce and Industry unveiled a program of events for next year's Ord Valley Muster. It is to include the second Kimberley Moon Experience, which will be held at the Lake Kununurra Golf Club. Muster manager Leanne O'Shea told a recent meeting of interested people about the benefits of the Muster for the region. She also discussed the value of community involvement and importance of the support and participation of all East Kimberley residents. "Although it is the event management team who put the framework of the Muster together, it is the local residents who make it happen - their involvement and excitement makes the spirit of the Muster," she said. Leanne went on to announce that the Muster program for 2004 would be extended from nine to 14 days of events, beginning on May 8 and finishing on May 23. The Slingair Heliwork Kimberley Moon Experience will officially open the Muster on May 8, encouraging visitors who have travelled for the concert to stay longer to enjoy the region and the many events within the Muster program. |
The Darwin Symphony Orchestra will again perform and James Blundell, who proved popular with the concert crowd this year, will return to compere the evening. Recording artist Wendy Mathews with join them as headline artist for 2004. Leanne said: "We are creating something just as spectacular as this year with special effects, excitement and surprises. "It will be a truly unforgettable event for locals and visitors alike." It is intended to upgrade and beautify part of the golf course for the event and other events that may follow. The Department of Sport and Recreation is working closely with Muster organisers to attract high profile sportspeople to participate throughout the fortnight of events, including running workshops for children, having a professional water-skier at the Dam to Dam event and professional skateboarders offering tips on Paddy's Markets Youth Day. Advertising and promotion of the 2004 Muster will begin early in the New Year with a heavy focus on the NT and throughout WA. |
