The annual social event of the year in Kununurra, Kimberley Fine Diamonds pre-Christmas drinks and art exhibition, was a big success as usual. Top shelf footballers Ben Cousins and Michael Gardiner were at the party for the fourth successive year and cricket legend Merv Hughes was also in attendance. |
The easy-going Merv chatted away to everyone and anyone and posed with an endless stream of those wanting to be photographed with a celebrity. Kimberley Fine Diamonds was packed with people, as was the area at the front of the shop. The art exhibition included the work of local artist Rebecca Ellett as well as Peter Snelgar, Ray Firth, David Badcock and Rebecca Cool. |
The receipts of an auction of sporting memorabilia and other items will go to help local youth and sport. Auctioneer and Kimberley icon Jim O'Kenny was in fine fettle for the auction and kept the crowd entertained. Kimberley Fine Diamonds successfully tendered for an Argyle pink diamond and this was unveiled. |
