More new homes for Halls Creek

Six houses will be built in Halls Creek on three separate lots.

One two-bedroom and one three-bedroom house will be built on Lot 167, John Flynn Street.

Identical designs will be constructed at adjoining Lot 169 and also at Lot 112, Hall Street.

Housing and Works Minister Nick Griffiths said the houses were to be constructed by winning bidder Broome builder, Colin Wilkinson Developments.

"The buildings will be of steel frame, with Colorbond walls and roofs," Mr Griffiths said.

"They are designed to suit a tropical climate and will comply with the new energy-efficiency requirements of the Building Codes of Australia."

The Government Employees' Housing Authority has allocated two of the homes for use by Department of Education and Training.

The other two will be allocated on a needs basis.
