The Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley is currently undertaking an annual review of its Strategic Plan to ensure that it remains relevant and up to date. Much of the information gained throughout the initial community consultation and development process for the 2003-2008 Strategic Plan still remains relevant, therefore council will not be rewriting the plan in its entirety, rather enhancing the current plan to update to current information and strategies. The main purpose of the review is to comprehensively look at the Shire's Mission and Vision Statements and establish a new set of meaningful, measurable and achievable strategies for the 2004 calendar year. |
To date, a series of six staff workshops were held to discuss the various elements of the Strategic Plan where staff provided their thoughts on key issues and actions they believed the Shire should be working towards. Three workshop meetings were then held with all Shire councillors to discuss preferred directions and initiatives for the coming year. The plan is being promoted and distributed widely throughout the Shire for public consultation. The Shire is very keen to get as much community feedback and input as possible on the strategies and suggestions raised by Shire staff and councillors. |
Anyone, who wants to provide feedback on the draft plan should call Melanie King on 9168 4100 for a copy of the community consultation paper. Alternatively a display will be held in the Coles Shopping Complex on Saturday between 8am and 11am.
