Dole jobs increase

East Kimberley jobseekers will have their prospects improved by three new 'work for the dole' projects underway in the East Kimberley.

WA Liberal Senator Alan Eggleston and Federal Member Barry Haase announced the move last week.

Senator Eggleston said the new projects, which will place a total of 30 participants in Kununurra, Wyndham and Halls Creek, illustrated that the program was generating both worthwhile work experience for unemployed people and better services for local communities.

"This will give unemployed people in the region a valuable connection and insight into the world of work, and what employers are looking for when they have jobs to fill."

Senator Eggleston said the success of Work for the Dole projects both in the East Kimberley and across Australia was testimony to the creative input and support of local communities.

Senator Eggleston said in this round of Work for the Dole, Mr Brough announced 451 new projects across Australia, providing places for 5,310 job seekers.
