Thieves target speedway

The Kununurra Speedway has had another setback in its plans to start racing again next year.

Thieves have removed roofing panels from the club's building and have stolen toilet fittings.

There have also been attempts to break onto the speedway course by ramming gates and breaking locks.

Speedway vice president David Tate has asked anyone who noticed people with recently acquired steel roof panels to contact police.

He said action would be taken against anyone found trying to break into the track and the area would be closely monitored in the future.

Police are investigating the theft.

Anyone interested in joining the speedway should call David on 0429 681 603.
