A 10-year-old Busselton girl has survived a crocodile attack in Doubtful Bay on the Kimberley coast.
The attack left Chantal Burnup with a crushed vertebrae and internal injuries.
She also suffered deep cuts to her arms, chest and back.
Doubtful Bay is southwest of the Prince Regent River where US model Ginger Meadows was taken by a crocodile in March 1987.
Chantal was first flown to a station and then on to Derby Hospital on Tuesday morning for treatment.
It has been reported that she was sitting on the back of a 13-metre yacht in Doubtful Bay, when a crocodile attacked her on Monday afternoon.
A spokeswoman at the hospital said Chantal was in a stable condition on Tuesday afternoon.
