Last men gaoled

The last offenders to be tried following a particularly brutal pack rape have gone to gaol.
The detective, who investigated the crime in July 2002, Ashley Goy, described the assault by five juveniles from Balgo and three adults from Halls Creek and Billiluna as the most vicious and degrading he had come across.
The court was told that after the woman was pack raped, further serious injuries were caused to her genitalia with the use of a stick.
She nearly died from her wounds and is still receiving counselling.
The attack happened outside the Kimberley Hotel in Halls Creek.
The juveniles were gaoled in April 2003 when they appeared in the Perth Children's Court.
The adults Clifton Jones, 25, and Eugene Rogers, 24, were sentenced to four years gaol and Lionel Manson, 25, was gaoled for 21 months.
Det. Snr Sgt Goy said the victim had shown great courage to testify against the men at the hearing in Broome.
Det. Snr Sgt Goy is now the officer in charge of Fremantle Detectives.
