Wyndham St John Ambulance has been brought up to date with the introduction of standard emergency numbers.
To call an ambulance in an emergency, Wyndham people will now just call 000 rather than the local number.
For ambulance service of a non-emergency nature they will call 131 233.
The move will provide residents with a direct connection to the St John Communications Centre.
St John says this will create potentially life-saving advantages.
It brings Wyndham into line with numerous other regional centres.
People should no longer call the local sub centre.
Wyndham ambulanceman Dick Daniels says the sub centre is short of volunteers again and anyone who can help out with the service should call him on 9161 1185. |
