Melissa triumphs at awards

Kununurra businesswoman and artist Melissa Boot triumphed at the 2005 Small Business Awards in Perth at the weekend.

She won the GWN Business Enterprise Centre Achiever Award.

Melissa's business Kimberley Boab Kreations was up against strong competition from three other finalists Humfrey Land Developments, Liftmec and WA Skills Training.

Broome Sightseeing Tours won the TSA Home Based Business Award and Broome and the Kimberley Holidays won WA Business News Business with 5-10 Employees Award.

Small Business Minister John D'Orazio told the gala event at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre that small business was responsible for 87 percent of revenue in WA.
