Jingle bells
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock...la de da da daaa.
Don't you love the way every known, and unknown, rock star puts out a Christmas special album?
How many versions of little drummer boy can you take?
And don't the radio stations love it; they can run the same play list as last year, just with different artists.
As for our town, I am pretty disappointed with the lack of entries for the Christmas lights competition so far.
What's wrong with putting up a few lights?
Come on guys, if we weren't running the thing, we would be in it; who in their right mind gives up the chance to win free money?
You've got a better chance of winning this competition than winning Saturday night Lotto, I tell ya.
Leaving town
This time of year always seems to see people packing up and leaving town and this year is no different.
Leaving town this week, after many, many moons in town are Tim, Toni, Maclayn and Tayler Banton.
They are off to Geraldton to surf and shop and so on, good luck guys...I'll be down one day for a steamboat with you all again.
Noticed the heap of garage sales in the paper?
More families leaving town, not sure who they are, but see yah and good luck anyway.
Football antics
Seems some footballers can't keep themselves out of strife can they.
Honestly though, don't you think that after being such a high profile 'catch' for police, these jokers would have a bit more sense?
Obviously not, but if you are going to be a celebrity, you have to accept some sort of responsibility, like it or not.
So next time you are out 'on the tiles' in town, just be glad you don't have that sort of weight on your shoulders...who would want it anyway?
Congratulations
As friend and as a cast member of Grease, I would like to congratulate Fiona Kuiper on her win as Kununurra Volunteer of the Year for 2006.
Anyone who has worked with her, and let's face it, there are so many things that she is involved in there's not many out there who wouldn't have had something to do with Fiona, will know she likes to spread herself thinly.
However, she always comes up with the goods in the end and she should feel proud and satisfied with her successes.
Good on ya mate; I'll be over on the weekend to raise a glass to you.
There should me more people out there willing to give things a go, and if you haven't yet, why not start?
The Kununurra Ag. Society is a good place to start; the annual general meeting is on this Sunday - come on down.
Movie matters
More information on 'the movie' for you...
Nicole's character's name is Lady Sarah Ashley and she comes over to Australia because she doesn't trust her husband; thinks he is having an affair.
In actual fact, the poor fellow is dead and that is how she comes to run the property 'Faraway Downs', which is going to be built near House Roof Hill.
My push to get someone from Kununurra to star in the movie has been dismal; no one came forward.
I will now not bother trying, although I thought at least one of you might take up the challenge; seems I was wrong. |
