Plans for the catchment refurbishing. The Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley has written to Weaber Plain Road residents to keep them up to date on measures it is taking to ease flooding. It advised residents of an area that has been inundated in recent wet seasons that a display had been set up in the foyer of its Kununurra offices showing plans and drawings for the work to be undertaken for the erosion project in the upper catchment. The display shows the sites and the structure designs for Stage 1. In the letter, environment officer Katya Tripp says: "These plans have taken far longer than first estimated. "Materials were ordered on November 20 and once they arrive we can begin to build the structures. "These will then be monitored and evaluated throughout the wet season. "Next dry season, those structures that have proven to be the most successful will be installed at other sites along the drainage line (stage 2)." She urged residents to look at the plans and speak to either herself or technical services manager Dan Hulands. |
