The Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley has refurbished the area and installed a new cenotaph and flagpole.
Organiser Howard Young conducted the service with input from numerous people.
A contingent from Tindal Air Base mounted the guard and Kununurra police turned out in strength to pay their respects.
The service was followed by a 'gun fire breakfast'.
The march at 9am was also well attended and Cr Keith Wright said it was the biggest he could remember.
Again the RAAF mounted the guard and there was a large contingent of police marching.
