The opening event for this year's Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster will be the Kununurra Arts Council's Street Party.
The event will be centred around Papuana Street starting at 6pm on May 18.
Last year the response to the drug and alcohol free Street Party was enormous with an estimated 800 people participating.
This year, with funding from Lotterywest, the council has secured Broome-based contemporary performance group Groovy Lips and the Yang for the event on the 'big stage'.
Groovy Lips and the Yang is an exciting group with an incredible ability to energise and entertain.
It is a three-piece band featuring didgeridoo, guitar and voice.
Clifton Bieundurry brings his cultural and musical knowledge to life through his voice and didgeridoo playing.
The music Groovy Lips and the Yang create is a combination of driving didgeridoo rhythms, stylish guitar licks and soulful singing.
They will be joined by a wide range of local performances on the evening.
The group will hold a free workshop at White Gum Park from 2.30pm to 4pm on the day of the Street Party.
Another feature of this year's party will be a community foot parade featuring a range of Kununurra talent.
