A 50-year-old woman died in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital following a fall at the Prince Regent River. Debra Gregson-Bilston had been on life support at the hospital since being medivacced from the Kimberley at the weekend. She had suffered severe head injuries. The woman had been working as a volunteer crewmember on a Broome-based cruise boat. A party from the boat had trekked to the Kings Cascade Falls on the Prince Regent. Ms Gregson-Bilston five metres down a cliff on Friday. Rescue attempts had to be delayed until the following day. Then a seaplane from Derby was sent in and flew her to Derby, where she was transferred to the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances. |
