The Alligator Airways Lake Argyle Classic swim on Monday has won the praise of competitors from all over Australia.
55 swimmers took part as solos, duos or quads swimming either 10 or 20 kilometres.
The winning 20 kilometres solo male was Michael Skrodzki in five hours, 47 minutes and 28 seconds.
The solo female was Chloe McCarden in five hours, 56 minutes and 14 seconds.
Organiser Bree Muir paid tribute to the many local boat owners who provided support for the swimmers, who came from all over Australia, including the Balmoral Beach Club from NSW, which staged a similar event last year.
Bree said the competitors commented that it was one of the best organised events they had contested.
She said conditions were a bit choppy when the swimmers set out from the boat ramp on Lake Argyle but improved as the day progressed.
Winners were presented with their trophies during a function at the Kununurra Country Club on Monday evening.
The Kununurra team of Kelly Fewster, Jodie Larke, Jaimee McMahon and Chris McDonald took out first place in the 10-kilometre quads in a time of four hours, 58 minutes and 59 seconds.
